In the last three first periods the Jets have outshot the opposition 37-11. In 29 games Colorado had only given up 17 first period goals. The second period was a reversal with the Avalanche outshooting the Jets 14-4 and getting goals from Ryan OReilly and Duchene to take a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.
