Japanese fan art: Grand Seiko launches two new products in Heritage Series
Grand Seiko is known for its attention to detail and deep connection with Japanese culture and craftsmanship. This enthusiasm is once again reflected in two new products in the Heritage range.
Officially designated SBGW297 and SBGW299, these latest models showcase a scaled-down version of the iconic 44GS case and feature a hand-wound movement and a choice of white or blue textured dials. Both dials have a charming sunray surface, reminiscent of the ancient art of fans. They feature faceted baton hour markers and a beautifully printed minute track surrounding the periphery. The dial is protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal.
Aside from the difference in dial color, the Grand Seiko SBGW297 and SBGW299 share the same features. The angular stainless steel case inspired by the 44GS is carefully finished with brushed and Zaratsu polishing to create a mirror-like effect that does not deform. The case measures 36.5 mm in diameter, 11.6 mm thick, and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
Powering the Grand Seiko Heritage SBGW297 and SBGW299 watches is the renowned Caliber 9S64 hand-wound mechanical movement. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour (4 Hz), has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, and was rigorously tested at six different positions over 17 days to meet Grand Seiko's strict accuracy standards of -3/+5 seconds per day. .
